I think this would be a good QOTD candidate. I was just browsing the local classifieds and saw a mighty 1986 Toyota Tercel. When I got to the picture of the gauge cluster (every proper car for sale ad should have a picture of the cluster) I had a small chuckle at how stark and minimalist it was....
I don't think you can get much more minimal than that from the factory. Let's see some other good examples of some gauge clusters designed with the mantra of "the less you know the better..."

its like pick and pull foam, where you pull out chucks so you can put various dash bits in.

Speed and fuel.

The Echo doesn't have a temperature gauge. Just a speedometer and fuel gauge.

These are pretty minimal when they're busted...which is about 80% of the time.

It must have had a tach if it was manual?

Wait, are you serious? :)

The smart fortwo. It only has the bare essentials (or in my case, faces)...

Early Mini 850 was simple, but it has a fuel gauge.
I believe early Beetle will win this.

Came to post the same thing.

My dad's van has the same setup. Except the speedo quit working a long time ago, so we installed a knee knocker style tach, so he at least has an idea of how fast he is going.

Had a '97 Corolla with about the same cluster at that Tercel.
Speaking of Tercels, I have an '85 Tercel SR5 wagon with the inclineomter. Pretty much the best anything ever. Here's a similar picture:

For an even close to modern car, I may be winning. Panhard Dyna Z. Speedo, a couple warning lights. Made up to '59.

Nope I have driven Manual cars and trucks without a tach. Weird right?

My first car, a '92 Beretta base model, didn't have much info to give me.

Any Aston Martin Lagonda. Because you KNOW that by now, the whole digital dash is dead or just a few random illuminated pixels...

First gen Neon coupes were manual with no tach. Hell, Im pretty sure my sisters 05 Civic 5spd has no tach either.

Beetles didn't have one either, just hash marks on the speedometer that approximated when you might need to shift, if you somehow couldn't tell otherwise.

The Nano is pretty basic.

^This, its from mid 90's Toyota Corolla, the car I passed my driving test in almost a decade ago.

Yep, mid ninties Corollas too, my grandparents had a late 80's Corolla in the homeland and our driver would shift based on speed and engine noise lol.

Yes. The first-gen Yaris was sold under the name Echo in the US.
